The Building

A gabled Victorian at the quiet end of the main street.

Telluride went up in 1878 as a silver camp and was incorporated nine years on. Most of the town that grew along Colorado Avenue is still standing — and this house is part of it, with a porch, a bay window, a recessed balcony tucked under the peak, and two spruces standing guard at the front.

Four inn rooms sit on the second and third floors; the San Juan suite has the ground floor at the back to itself. A shared kitchen and sitting room crown the top. It is a small building, and it behaves like one.

What to expect
No front desk. Your door code arrives the day before you travel. Someone local is always reachable.
A shared third floor. Kitchen with coffee pods and snacks, gas fireplace under vaulted pine ceilings, hot tub on the deck.
Parking, free and off the street. The lot is about half a block behind the inn.
Pet friendly in San Juan. The inn rooms are not pet friendly.
Hot tub, 7am to 10pm. Shared hot tub available for all guests.
Telluride

One road in, and you are already on the main street.

The town sits in a box canyon with walls on three sides. We are at the west end of Colorado Avenue — far enough from the noise to sleep, close enough that you will not drive again until you leave.

A room block that is actually one house.

Four inn rooms and the private suite for the people who matter most, two blocks from where everyone else is staying, with a kitchen and a fireplace for the morning after. We hold whole-inn dates a year out.
